Emily Kame Kngwarreye & Friends at Gallery Elysium
On Friday November 1, Gallery Elysium in Hawthorn, Melbourne, celebrates its official opening with an inaugural exhibition of paintings by Emily Kame Kngwarreye and other celebrated indigenous artists, including Kuddtji Kngwarreye. Minnie Pwerle. Molly Pwerle. Galya Pwerle Emily Pwerle , Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, Walala Tjapaltjarri , Johnny Warangula Tjupurrula, Mick Namerari and Barbara Weir.
The exhibition, titled Emily & Friends, features works that have been selected by Hank Ebes, a world authority on Australian contemporary indigenous art and curator/owner of the Emily Museum.
All the works in this exhibition have been hand-picked by Hank Ebes himself from his extensive and diverse collection of top tier contemporary Australian art and will include some works that have never previously been exhibited in public.
The exhibition celebrates the diversity and brilliance of Australian contemporary indigenous art and offers a wonderful opportunity for art lovers and investors to view a significant collection of important paintings in one of Melbourne’s most exciting new art galleries.
